Are you ready to spend a fantastic December weekend on skis?
In Bormio, in the lombardy region of Italy, just a few days have passed since the opening of the new winter season.
A season that is as long-awaited as hard, due to the lack of snowfalls and temperatures that were anything but freezing this past autumn.
This is why, despite the best efforts of the snowmakers, the skiable area is still being expanded.
Fortunately, the time dedicated to this great annual challenge is beginning to pay off: from the 9km of skiing available from Saturday 3 December, we are moving up to 19km on Friday 9 December.
And in the coming days, the opening areas may increase even more.
Among the areas being prepared, one above all: the glorious Stelvio World Cup slope, which again this year is part of the Ski World Cup white circuit. 28 and 29 December are the long-awaited days when the best jet skiers will compete.
In the coming weeks, ski enthusiasts will be able to experience a preview of the famous slope.
The snow does not completely cover the Bormio ski area, but it will certainly allow snow lovers to get back to doing what they love most: skiing and enjoying a day in the mountains. Among nature, friends, pure air and delicious italian food.
Skiing area increases soon
The fresh news is that on Wednesday, 7 December, there will be a net expansion of the ski area in the Bormio 3000 area, and as a result, the number of lifts involved will also increase.
In addition, the Bormio 2000- Cima Bianca cable car, which until now was only open to pedestrians, will resume its function as a ski transport.
From Friday, however, skiing will also be possible in the Ciuk area (1,633 m), allowing skiing almost all the way to the valley.
