The ski area of Bormio is widely considered the homeland of racing at competitive level. The main vertical drop of Italy, the steepness of the slopes, the technical passages and especially the World Cup Men Downhill on the Stelvio make Bormio Ski one of the most complete resort among the Alps for racing.
This February a new event is going to captivate the attention of many ski fans: the eighteenth edition of the English Alpine Championships which will take place at Bormio Ski from February 16 to 21, 2014. The English have chosen Bormio for the fifth time in a row.
The champs are expected to bring about 400 athletes from all over the world. Last year we saw 30 countries represented. Races will all take place on the slopes Stelvio and Stella Alpina. This edition will also have a night event with the spectacular Team Parallel Slalom on the Stelvio scheduled for Tuesday 18. The races will be presented to the community on Saturday February 15 with the Opening Parade in the old town center of Bormio.
