After 2014' s missed edition, Pozza dei Mat (Pond of Mads) was finally back yesterday at Bormio Ski. The ninth edition will be remembered as the most awaited among all.
More than 3,000 people wanted to be in Bormio 2000 yesterday to see the most fun event of the season and celebrate the end of the winter 2014/2015.
The participants, 150 “mads”, have slid down the steep hill, trying to skim the freezing water pool dug out of the snow. We saw some very funny tumbles and dives into the frozen water.
For the record, in the “Challenge” category riserved to skiers and snowboarders , the first place went to Canclini Michele, second place for Mascherona Katia and third for Mariani Michele. In the “Jump” category, first position for Bormolini Pietro, second for Sobetta Andrea and third for Gilardi Stefano. In the Mat category, the best five decoreted vehicles were awarded for their beauty and the best three for their ability to skim the pond. For the beauty, Team Bergoglio won with an amazing Popemobile, second place for Arca Chalet della Rocca, third for E’ una cag…ta pazzesca, fourth for The Elvis and Olivia, fifth for L’Arca de li Presa. For pond skimmin, the best vehicle was E’ una cagata pazzesca, in the second position One Piece and in third L’Arca de li Presa.
