Freeride is a discipline of mountain biking which takes into account style and free interpretation of the itinerary. The “free-ride” with mtb may be somehow compared to the winter “free-ride” with snowboard or skis. Whoever choses to pratice this discipline must gear up appriopriately with a dh/freeride mtb and protections.
