Bormio Ski, with a sense of responsibility and care for our guests, announces that the start of the ski season, initially scheduled for Saturday, November 30, has been postponed to Friday, December 6.
The same opening date applies to the nearby resorts of Santa Caterina and Cima Piazzi.
This decision was not taken lightly but is dictated by the current weather conditions and the forecasts for the coming days. Temperatures do not currently allow for sufficient snow coverage to ensure a satisfactory experience that meets our quality standards.
Although the Stella Alpina slope, the Canalino Sertorelli section of the Stelvio slope, and the La Rocca slope are already prepared, we do not believe this offering is adequate to meet the expectations of our guests. Unfortunately, last Friday's snowfall did not bring significant accumulation due to low temperatures and strong winds. However, the recent cold spell has been instrumental in kickstarting our snowmaking efforts, particularly at lower altitudes on the Stelvio slope, in preparation for the 2024 World Cup.
With a forecasted rise in temperatures, our efforts will now shift towards artificial snowmaking on the higher-altitude slopes, especially on the Praimont slope.
For those who have already purchased online on our shop skipasses valid from November 30 to December 5, refunds will be processed automatically through our system.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused but firmly believe this decision will allow us to deliver the quality and service that have always distinguished us.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you on the slopes starting Friday, December 6, as we kick off an unforgettable season together!
