The endless ski run of Bormio - a vertical drop of 1,800 meters from the peak to the valley - is getting closer day by day. Thanks to temperatures' drop, our snowmaking system has gotten to work at full speed literally bombing the ski area, up until now only open at the top. Today's good news has arrived directly from our managing director, Pasquale Canclini, who told us that from Saturday we will be skiing on a vertical drop of 1,000 meters, from Cima Bianca (3,012 m) to Bormio 2000 (1,950 m).
FROM TOMORROW the chairlift Bormio 2000-Pian dei Larici, the whole slope Stella Alpina and the connection slopes Stella Alpina-La Rocca and La Rocca-Stella Alpina will be open.
FROM DECEMBER 13 the whole slope Praimont, the slope Sant'Ambrogio, the variation Praimont and the connection slope Praimont-La Rocca will be open. In total, you will be skiing on 20 km of slopes nicely covered of snow.
From last night, for the first time during this part of the season, the snowmaking system has turned on at lower altitudes on the slopes Genziana and Stelvio, below 2,000 meters. Temperatures are finally dropping; it looks like winter has arrived for good. We are still far away from the total opening of the ski area but preconditions are looking brighter.
This weekend 1,000 meters of vertical drop, with skis on, are waiting for you!
