Ski touring on Bormio Ski's slopes

Bormio. January 13, 2014Bormio Ski

Ski touring is an activity that's been growing a lot over the last few years and many people are becoming more familiar with this sport. Bormio Ski has then decided to meet the needs of these people and has allowed ski tourists to go up on the slopes on a limited area and within the hours as after-specified.

The practice of ski touring will be allowed on the Stelvio slope from 5.30 p.m. (after slopes' closing) to 10.00 p.m. from Bormio to Ciuk, no further than the bottom station of the chairlift Ciuk-Laghetti. Except on Thursday night (or others, see the Happy Ski Night calendar) when slopes Stelvio and Genziana will be open for night skiing.

Whoever will practice ski touring during the part of the ski area indicated and within the agreed hours will have to take up his/her responsabilities which can derive from the pratice of this sport and discharge Società Impianti Bormio from any kind of responsability civil or criminal, as a consequence of  injuries or illnesses caused to himself/herself or to a third party within the area.

We recommend to all ski tourists to wear the head torch and always to be very careful especially when skiing down. The slope will not be groomed and that might signify that you may find bumps or icy spots which are going to be hard to be seen at night. Also, we'd like to remind you that no Police will be on the slopes for rescuing.

The snow cats will get working only after 10.00 p.m. in order to avoid accidents with ski tourists.

Finally, we'd like to remind you that ski touring is always allowed off piste.
