Bormio. February 1, 2015
Ski touring is an activity which has been growing a lot over the last few years and many people are becoming more familiar with this sport. Bormio Ski has then decided to meet the needs of these people and will allow ski tourists to climb up the slopes within a limited area and within the hours as after-specified.
The practice of ski touring will be allowed on the Stelvio slope from 5:30 pm (after slopes' closing) to 10:00 pm from Bormio to Ciuk, no further than the bottom station of the chairlift Ciuk-Laghetti. Except on those nights dedicated to night skiing (see calendar) when the slopes Stelvio and Genziana will be available for alpine skiers.
Whoever will practice ski touring within the legitimate area and within the agreed hours will have to take up his/her responsabilities which can derive from the pratice of this sport and discharge Società Impianti Bormio from any kind of responsability civil or criminal, as a consequence of injuries or illnesses caused to himself/herself or to a third party within the area.
We recommend to all ski tourists to wear a head torch and to always be very careful especially when skiing down. The slopes will not be groomed and you might find bumps or icy spots which are going to be hard to be seen at night. Also, we'd like to remind you that no Police will be on the slopes for rescuing.
The snow cats will get to work only after 10:00 pm in order to avoid accidents with ski tourists.
Finally, we'd like to remind you that ski touring is always allowed off piste.
