High altitude trail
Trekking itinerary Vallecetta Tour: hike at high altitude within an amazing natural environment. Trekking among the rocks at 3,000 meters to reach the Profa Lakes, simply marvellous in their intense blue color.
From Bormio take the cableway that takes you to Bormio 2000 and then the cablecar “Whitelady3000” to Bormio 3000. The itinerary (very much technical for bikers) starts on a single trail, S541, and goes downhill to Bei Laghetti and then Bocca di Profa.
On the first part the track is sufficiently wide but remember that you are walking on big rocks. From Bei Laghetti the track gets narrower but the ground is less ruined. Here you have to make a stop and observe the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the incredible blue of the small lakes due to sedimentation.
Once you get to Bocca di Profa, turn left on the trail S518, sometimes very steep, until you reach the dirt road to Monti di Sobrettta. Continue on S543.2 and you finally arrive to Bormio 2000, passing by Pozzo dell’Acqua and Fontanalonga.
